While many low-cost contractors may seem to be saving you money on your HVAC system work, please make sure they are not cutting corners by illegally releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere. Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC’s) that are used as air conditioning and heat pump refrigerant have been linked to the destruction of the earth’s ozone layer.
